Electronic Ear Muffs ??

hey guys looking for some quality ear protection that doesn't break the bank. thanks guys in the form of ear muffs by the way I already have ear plugs

Re: Ear Muffs

PELTOR electronic, turn the ear piece upside down to get more clearance from your stock. works great!!

Howard Light Sport Muffs, don't fold them up and they will/should last a long time, my first pair lasted 4 years with heavy use, I rewired them because folding them up broke the wires in the head band, they went TU after wearing them in a heavy down pour, my second pair grew legs, I'm using MSA Sordins with Gel cups now, and yes they are 240 bucks better, I also wear foamie ear plugs under muffs, the plugs provide superior hearing protection, amplified muffs provide volume for conversations and hearing commands from RO's.

Caldwell E-MAX Electronic Earmuffs (NRR 25dB) Green
I got these from Midway around $25.00
They work perfectly for me and the ability to hear with them on is really nice.

Been using Peltor TacSport muffs after upgrading the ear cushions to gel cushions - HY80 that you can get from aviation/pilot supply places. Been happy with these - my only regret was not making the change earlier...

I also wear plugs under the muffs and don't have probs hearing range commands.

I "had" a pair of the Caldwell's. I shoot a couple times a week. They lasted two years before the ear seals and foam deteriorated and fell apart, your classic quangdong province specials. I also have a pair of the el cheapo Leights and they are holding up well.

I posted this same question some time ago. The general consensious was howard leight impact sport for the money. Above and beyond that I was told that the concern is how long do you wear them. If your only wearing them for a short stay at the range then any of these will do. But if your in combat and wearing them all day then Its worth spending the couple hundred bucks you see some of the high end ones going for. The long term comfort is what your paying for.

I've used these for 7 years, and they work great. They also do not drain batteries. Great value:
