Efficient burn barrel lenght

Having a barrel made at E. Arthur Brown Co. for my T/C Encore in 6mm BR Norma. I'll use Hornady 75 gr V-Max in a 1:12 twist. This will be used for coyotes, so I'm on the move. The barrel will be tapered to help with weight. Is there a Min. lenght were the powder is at it's most efficent. Shots will be at 300 yrds. But, I love to shoot long range water filled milk jugs on the power lines. Is there a set lenght you all have come up with? Thanks

Steve

Was load testing today. Surprisingly the Chrono told me I was getting 2920 fps with a max load of Varget, std. case, 27" barrel, 105 Scenars. Woo Hoo. Pac Nor 3-groove. This was extremely accurate. 3-shot groups in the high Ones, in Very Windy conditions.

So, with a lighter bullet, yes I'd say 26" will do the job. I might start with a 28" blank though, just in case something, god forbid) goes wrong with your chamber. Then you can set it back and still have your 26".
