Effect of component shortage on competition ?

What has been the effect of the handloading component shortage on competitions this year ?

Have any scheduled matches been canceled ?

Has the attendance been down ?

Have the scores been lower due to less practice ?

Have marginal shooters given up competition ?

.

Yes to question 2 & 4.

I would guess no to question 3 as there are probably fewer average to below average shooters so the match mean score has probably increased.

Answers to all but the first question could be affected by the economy as well as the component shortage.

Most serious shooters probably have enough on hand to go for a season or two without additional supplies, but as such are reluctant to use what they have until the picture becomes more clear about just when new supplies will become available.

Things changed pretty dramatically in 2008, on a variety of fronts; every aspect of our public and private lives will continue to be affected for some time to come.

The dramatic change actually took place after 9/11.
We have relinquished numerous freedoms in our country since that terrible day.
