If he sold it, but shipped to the purchaser's FFL, not to the individual buying it, would that be possibly ok, disregarding ebay policy?

I would be concerned about account being locked, etc. in regards to Ebay's policies. However I have seen parts (barrels, triggers etc) for sale so who knows.

What are the odds that the people who censor ebay know that a rifle action is legally a gun. Then again its probably an AI that does it now.

I've bought stocks, grips, barrels, triggers, scopes, dies and other things off ebay with no issues, but this is a first for me seeing an action/serial number. Not sure how that works haha! Good luck to both parties. I'd message the guy and be asking a few questions if it was me...

Going back a lot of years, when eBay started to get all condescending with their policies on certain things, I made some great deals by writing to the seller with a question, and then waiting for that item to be found and deleted from the eBay system. But by having a message to that seller in my messages, I could write back, and make an offer, or take things off eBay to private emails.
I've bought airguns, and magazines, and a few other things that were great deals that way.
Now all those things are considered acceptable on the auctions, so it's a bit more competitive.
