Checking to see if there would be a guy or two from this group from East Central/Eastern Iowa (or relatively close) that would be interested in going on a Prairie Dog shooting trip in early June this year on the Rosebud Reservation near White River,SD. Looking to do this the 1st weekend in June, the 1st and 2nd. Must be a serious varmint shooter but also like to have fun. I will be setting up the trip. I'm checking out various places/guides, etc in the next week or two and hope to have reservations/plans finalized no later than March 1st. Potential overall total cost would be in the $700 range for 2 days of shooting, lodging, meals, transportation, etc. according to my early search findings, plus the cost of your own ammo of course.
Must be able to commit to it with some deposit $$$ up front and I hope to get the "group" together least once if not a couple times for some fun shooting, etc sometime before we go at either my family ground or a buddy's place so we can meet, plan, etc.
You should have at least a couple rifles, plenty of ammo, shooting bench/table/mat etc at your disposal/use but I think some of these places can provide that if needed. I plan on taking my truck, a crew cab Chevy, and need will need another member willing to drive and have a similar truck. Best case scenario would be a group of at least 4, possibly up to 6 max for groups of 2 for shooting/spotting.
