Eachus 22lr reamer

I have a new customer asking if I can use a Eachus 22lr reamer on his new barrel. I chamber several rimfire barrels every year and I have several reamers of all types but I am unfamiliar with this one. I told my guy that I’d do some research.
From what I gather, which isn’t much. What I gather is that this reamer is in the tighter side. What I can’t find is the lead angle. Do any of you folks know anything about this 22lr chamber reamer?
Thanks

I believe it is a guy with the username padom on snipershide who created it. So your customer probably is reading over there and getting his info from his posts.

You may pm him and see if he will provide the info.

Its my reamer Lee. Many many years ago, With the help of an old timer rimfire BR smith who was retiring at the time, I designed this for Lapua ammo. I have given 2 shops to date permission to use my reamer in exchange for a little barrel work and both have chambered hundreds of barrels with it. It has proven very successful over the past 5yrs or so.

I have used it on CZ455's, Vudoo's and RimX's. I have chambered all the barrels so a chambered round just touches the second driving band into the lands and extracts a live unfired round just fine. It has a 2 degree lead angle..

Feel free to shoot me a PM if want more info

Dominic,

Could you tell us if the reamer is straight sided or tapered?

thank you, Dominic. I will be in contact Lee Gardner

It is straight
Thank you for the reply. But could you put up the specs, perhaps with a drawing.

The reason I ask is there are so many straight sided 2 degree lead reamers now I would like to know how this one is different.

Of course, I'm looking for the secret sauce.

Respectfully, no not right now. Maybe sometime in the future. But, I can say, comparing it to other popular 22LR chambers, there are differences.

Come on Tony, you more than anyone on this forum know there is no secret sauce. Tell us the REAL reason you want to know.
OK John, you got me. I'm not expecting secret sauce, but I would be equally impressed if it is something really new that hasn't been done before. I do like to keep track of the few creative thinkers we have in our sport.

TRSR8, you guys know me too well!

I've got a Rim-X that I've tried a few different bbls in, without great success where accuracy's concerned. However, after reading Padom's barrel testing posts over on the Hide, where he's tried quite a number of different brands of barrels in his Rim-X action, I got curious enough about his Eachus chamber to send a Green Mountain bbl - that I'd had contoured by another 'smith who has a CNC lathe - to Mike Manzella to have him cut the Rim-X tenon on, and then chamber it with his Eachus reamer. While I paid only around $120 each for the two straight cylinder Green Mountain blanks I had, the one that Mike fitted & chambered has out-shot the other bbls I'd chambered for this action. These GM bbls don't have quite the nice lapped bore finish of the Bartlein, Benchmark, Krieger, or Shilen bbls I typically use, but the one with the Eachus chamber does shoot better on the Rim-X than any of the bbls I'd done with EPS or Win 52D reamers that I own. Since I don't have access to an Eachus reamer, I haven't stopped using my EPS reamer in Vudoo & CZ repeaters, and the Nevius in a couple of V22S single shots. As good as the Benchamark & Shilen bbls I've chambered for the V22S actions with the Nevius have shot to this point, I'll likely use the Nevius reamer on another R5 Shilen ratchet for a new RBLP V22S action that I should have in about 3 weeks.
