Dura-coat gun finish

I just refinished two guns with duacoat I bought from midway. they look great but I was wondering if anyone has put this stuff to the test to see how it holds up. I did a little test piece on a piece of steel while I had it in the paint gun. after it cured I took steel wool to the test peice and after some serious scrubing it started to show some wear but realy held up well.

It's pretty good stuff,IMO. It takes a long time for it to "fully" cure and reach it's full potential and works best when applied over parkerizing.---Mike Ezell

Thanks Mike. One of the guns I did was a Remington 22br I use for fox calling. I Did it in OD green and put it in a wood stock looks sharp. I'll put it on the pride & joy page so you all can check it out.

Pretty tough stuff. Like most coatings, the devil is in the details, especially the prep work. I have just seen a few chips in places on one of my rifles that was Duracoated. The other one is still going strong.

I have also heard that it works best over Parkerized finishes. When I do the next one, it will be Parkerized first.

this stuff is good stuff i used it on my rem 870 duck gun which is thrown in the boat with dogs and mud and it has even been used as a paddle it has held up great
