Dummy Round Lenghts for Barrel Orders

Hi guys new to the forum and will be putting together my first 6BR rifle on a Savage action. The rifle will be for varmints shooting bullets in the 55 to 80 grain range. My question is how do you select a lenght for dummy rounds to send in for barrel orders

In the Dave Kiff article 'Chamber Reamers for 6BR' he states to place the top of boat-tail junction on the bullet .050" above the junction of the cases neck/shoulder junction.

Here are my figures:
Case lenght 1.550", Neck lenght .3122", .050",distance above shoulder neck junction), Bullet 75 V-Max oal .929", lenght above boat-tail .777"

.3122"-.050"=.2622",depth in neck) 1.550"-.2622" =1.2878",point boat-tail starts) 1.2878"+.777"=2.0648",COL)

This leaves of course .2622" in the neck, subtract .060" for freebore which leaves .2022" in the neck to reach lands. Is this enough bullet left in the neck for grip.

If you guys have a better way of making up dummy rounds for this purpose please let me know.

I wasn't going to take .060" away from the dummy round when I made it up. My reasoning was there would be .060 space left to reach the lands. One of my questions was if the remaining depth left in the neck after reaching the lands was enough to hold the bullet in place. Overall I just needed to know if the col of 2.0648" for the dummy round would work to make up a barrel. Thanks.
