Duel Port actions disadvantages/advantages

Hi

Just wondering if anybody has anything bad to say about a left feed/right eject action?

Is there the only said problem of losing strength in the action itself.. or will this not matter?

Anyone out there using this configuration? If so what do you think?

Subject to being able to get a loaded round in & out, and assuming conventional bedding, from a pure accuracy point of view the fewer and smaller the holes in the action are the better.

I believe it isn't the loss of strength per se, but the loss of rigidity which is disadvantageous.

It causes "theoretical" weakness, but not quantitative weakness--lots of them are used in point blank BR,and a few in 1K BR -- usually the bigger ports frequired for 1K rounds rule out this type of setup, but not always.

as long as you can trust yourself to NOT throw a round completely thru the action, go for it.

I have a 10" BAT DP/RB and love it. the advantage to the DP is that you can load and fire much quicker normally and with smoother cycle. In 1k this allows you to get off your required rounds in a quicker time, to catch the same wind condition,hopefully). All this depends on the HG being set up correctly and tracking back to center everytime without moving aiming point.

As for being weaker, with the big 1k actions of BAT and Python, I do not think you are giving anything up especially in the 300 Ack Imp and under.

Dual Port actions are also the the most advanced configuration of custom action currently being offered,with the possible exception of the Stiller drop port.When I order my next BAT action,next month)I'm going that route.Besides the obvious mechanical advantages,resale value always seems to be the highest for custom actions with the most features.
