Dual port question?

I have a problem with a drop port, they use a Rem. style bolt face. What you gain with drop port you loose cone bolt face and it slows down the feeding but not just throwing the round in.......jim

If you have ever shot a D.P. action you would like it. They are very fast and feeding is just like a Panda or Bat. They drop right below in the same place every time. Bat will relocate the ejector but not cut the drop hole. They do work slick. Defiance will ship one ready to go. The advantage to a Remington style bolt is simple. Safety. They are very safe and not comparable to a coned bolt action. The tolerance to be held for a coned bolt to be safe is very very close. Lucky we all use great components. Lapua brass. I think all the actions work great. I do like the sliding plate extractor but it will not pull and eject Br and PPC brass reliably. The Sako type will if set up for BR. I am a true fan of the Borden action. He is a VERY VERY smart man and did it right and simple the first time. His actions are overlooked to often IMO. When shooting 200yds in switchy winds that don't hold, a good ejector action that's smooth is hard to beat. If I had almost any to take to a match, I would and not hesitate. They have all won. Oh and when I shoot an ejector, I use a beach towel folded 3 times. Works fine just fine like a bunch of other people use. Good luck!!!!

I've got a dual port and when I cycle the bolt at a moderate speed, it puts my 243AI and 6PBD brass about four inches out and they land in the three o'clock position when looking down on the gun. I have played around with shortening the ejector spring to just let the brass fall in the action. On a dual port, its easy to get the brass out. You just poke it through the other side if it slows you down.

No way I would want brass falling into the action. It would likely fall forward and being loose at that point, would be a pain to pick out.
Better to just delete ejection and allow the extractor to hold the cases center port for picking or pushing out. If that's what ya prefer
