drift in the .243/700

Rem. 700 26" HB 9.25tw is what i've bee working on an had excellent luck with 70 fb, 85gr v-max & noslers an 87gr a-max bullets the usual varget an imr 4350 powders But that was out to 300yrds... i just tried a 500yrd shot an found loads of w i n d drift..
my question is i never tried heavier bullet like in 105 an 107 weights can these get out there [500yrds] with an less wind drift an can the 9.25tw stabilize these bullets

other then the powder mentioned i have on hand h4831sc, w748, imr 3031
open to comments an suggestions

My 9.25 Remmy would not stabilize the 105s or heavier. Try the 95gr Berger. They do really well for me with 36.5gr of Varget. Changing bullets if your load is already accurate may help but not be the proper medicine. Wind drift at distance is a fact of life. Learning to dope the wind is an art in itself and a good windmeter is very valuable.

I use the same basic set up with the Hornady 87 gr. bullets out to 600 yds., 30378 was dead on about "reading" the wind, it's there all the time and it's best to become it's friend.

to my surprise i did the egg shoot [1st time] up in hickory,nc.. practice the day before went ok not great but do-able the match on sat was a loss, totally. didn't 'no watt da 'F' happen'd.. what changed ? although i used a .223 70gr bullet an a 6br 68gr bullet out at 1, 3, 500yrds... well lets not talk about it 'lol's'. no sighter or wind flags are allowed.. your on your own .... not experienced with the wind [cause] thought my .243 would be better wind wise with a heavier bullet next outting.. but IF105's won't stabilize whats next...Ha ! i tried.. not to any extent 95gr vld's an wasn't impressed... maybe i'll have to go back an re-do 95's to see..
