DREAM RIFLE

I currently have a BAT B 30BR in a Curly Maple Roy Hunter stock that is OUT OF THIS WORLD Beautiful. I also have a Scoville stocked 6PPC that is a work of art. Yeah yeah, whatever...they're nice and all, but, ho hum.

But, ya know what I really want and can't have?

My DREAM rifle would be a Winchester 1894 lever chambered in Thudy-Thudy. It would be a short barreled Trapper layout with a color case hardened receiver, Angle Eject of course, but it would also have the Tang safety. No silly and unsightly side push button for me!!! Nice wood would be a plus, but let's not split hairs here, eh?

Not too awful much to ask for, right??? I'm all but certain that Winchester is listening...

What's your DREAM RIFLE?

For nostalgia’s sake, it’s my Grandfather’s Winchester Model 55 takedown in 30-30. Most of the blueing is worn off from use in the woods of the Catskill mountains. He took a lot of deer with that gun. It shoots pretty good.
For my builds, I’m satisfied with this one as fulfilling my dream. Wheeler did the barrel work. Borden repeater action with a Bix & Andy trigger topped with a Sightron 10-50. The stock by me. Not my best work, but it was my first. Just something about your “first”.C1439252-E574-473D-9927-A0550206B813.jpegBBEBD87E-33BC-45EE-9434-6ACFA8FFB23D.jpeg
