DPMS RFA3-REC

Does anyone have any experience with DPMS and what is your opinion? What about STAG ARMS?? I am thinking about buying the DPMS RFA3-rec and just want to see if anyone has shot this rifle and what your opinion? Just want to spend my money wisely and get the best bang for the buck... How about the Stag Arms model #3?? Looking for the same feedback good or bad? New to the semi mil spec rifles and looking for others personal experience.....

I have a STAG model# 6. No problems and well made.

Dpms and stag and bushmaster and some of the expensive hybrids are fine rifles. I am not sure what you are referring to by rfa3 rec.I must assume the a3 flat top with an 18 inch barrel? They all shoot better with a trigger upgrade such as a jewel or chip mcormick,geisselle, or timney. The factory upgrades are a joke in my opinion. If you want it to shoot to its full potential then a trigger upgrade is the first and foremost investment and then quality ammo,not milspec or milsurp as they are loaded for 2 moa accuracy at best. Handloading for the black rifle is the way to wring out performance and accuracy.

I have a DPMS in 308 that shoots between 5/8 & 1" 5 shot groups at 100 yds. with the factory trigger (approx.7-8 lbs) w/handloads. Agree w/Jon above partially. The only factory upgrade that is not a joke in my humble opinion is the RRA Nat. Match trigger which is affordable (approx. $100) & easily set to 3-3.5lbs. It's now on my non target AR's and I can't wait to shoot those rifles again with the "new" triggers . Of the other triggers I have the Geisselle which is the cream of the crop but expensive . It is totally adjustable to very "low" wts. safely on the 2nd. stage. Jon is correct in my opinion that the reg. factory trigger leaves a LOT to be desired. Your desires and check-book will get you to shoot

+1 on the Rock River trigger, very good for the $. There are better but this is a great one for the $. DPMS & Stag are both good rifles.

The match trigger DPMS has been using is the RR 2 stage.
