DPMS LR-308 Upper Parts Needed

I am having a custom built upper on a stripped DPMS Gen I upper and the smith is unable to locate an upper parts kit. I looked at Brownell's and, while they have AR-15 parts, they do not have the kit for AR-10/DPMS format. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Already have everything else for the build. Thanks for any help.

Try "White Oak Armament"

Thanks, IPSCNUT. He has upper parts listed but not specified for 308 format. I sent him a msg on his website.

Primary Arms has 308 stuff, no kits, tho'.......lots of variables in 308 platforms that would make kits difficult to stock.

CH, FA (AR15 should fit with a different spring), CH (Raptor!), dust cover, etc. Have you got a BCG? If your BCG lt isn't 'notched' the FA may or may not work. Some folks just plug the FA hole.

Very true, Richard Jones. I have owned Colt carbines, DPMS LRs, and RRA Varmint ARs for a few years but have never built one. I am more a bolt rifle guy. DPMS had to muddy the water with the high and low, then the Gen 2 when it was already muddy enough with the DPMS/Armalite formats. Wish the large frame were standardized somewhat like the AR-15 platform.

The stripped upper is already in the smith's hands. I was somewhat surprised that he didn't stock these parts, or at least know where to get them, so he left that up to me. Then, I realized that he does mostly side-charging mods so no need for him to stock the parts. I chose Rubber City Armory nitrited HP BCG with FA serrations and small firing pin. I chose an SLR handguard and adjustable gas block. Barrel will be a Bartlien 6.5mm 8 twist chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. I'm keeping the original LR-308 upper as is until replacing the barrel with a custom later. Lower has Magpul PRS stock and Giessele trigger.

I've had many custom bolt rifles built over the years but this AR arena is very confusing to me. Never too old to learn, I guess.

Amen, brother.

Sounds like you only need the dust cover, FA, and CH. If you're going to scope it, look hard at the Raptor/Radian/AXTS. Much easier to manipulate than say, a BCM Mod 4, at least for me.
