Donut removal from 6.5x47 Lapua

What is the best way to remove the donut from some 6.5x47 brass I have? It's brass I made from a huge lot of 308 LC I had. I spent a lot of time turning, trimming, etc. when I was bored and on crutches following ACL repair. ;D

After two firings, I've got a pretty good donut now. Is there a reamer/pilot bushing that can be used with an RCBS trimmer? How about one that can be used with a Forster hand-held outside neck turner?

Thanks!

I assume your Forester is the basic trimmer, which can be used to ream inside of the necks. After the next firing, donut may appear on the outside. Actually, if the base of your bullet does not reach the donut, you need do nothing. In that case the donut will not interfere with bullet seating.

SINCLAIR'S I BELIEVE SELLS DONUT REMOVERS FOR THOSE WHO MUST SEAT PASSED THE DONUT. CHECK HIS SITE.

I HAD A 7MM BR THAT HAD THE DONUT, BUT IT WAS NOT AN ISSUE BECAUSE I WAS SEATING AHEAD OF THE DONUT

WHICH WAS FINE. I ASKED FRED SINCLAIR ABOUT IT AND HIS ANSWER WAS DON'T BUY THE DIE UNLESS YOU'RE
YOUR GOING TO SEAT PASSED THE DONUT.

IMHO, you don't need any special tools to remove donuts, just a good neck turner (like PMA) where the cutter has an angle that matches the shoulder angle of your brass. Use the neck turner as per usual, being sure to extend the cut into the shoulder area. Since I started using neck turners with carbide cutting blades that have a section to properly cut into the shoulder, donuts have become a thing of the past. If you brass develops donuts after neck turning, simply re-turn the brass. You will see the brass get a good trim right where the donut resides.

Are you FL sizing the necks?
Yes
Stop FL sizing your necks.

And do like Scott suggests with your next batch neck turning. If this is too difficult with 308 LC, turn new LAPUA 6.5x47 brass properly.

I'll give that a try as well as turning into the shoulder. I started doing this to avoid loosing expensive Lapua brass in this match rifle. Lots of work...but I don't get quite so upset about loosing this LC stuff.

Thanks so far for the advice.
