So my Beagle (Pete aka Sneaky Pete) ate the cable to my Alpha Chrony. I've read where people have used a 6 wire phone cord but some say the plug must be switched on one side or something. Has any one done this and can confirm or deny what I need to do? In the pic you can see the colors are the same on each end Seems I can't order a replacement since they are out of business. Thanks. 16484692114298902265346641035179.jpg

If you don't have the crimpers, for a RJ12/RJ45, to build your own cable, you're cheapest route may be to just to buy 2 of these.

RJ12 Male to Screw Terminal Adapter

Or just nip the end off the chewed end and only buy 1.

I'll check around to see if I have any RJ12's (I doubt it), if so I can make you one.... Mostly do RJ45 Ethernet connections, but that's a 2 minute job to build one out if you have the ends and crimpers.

That's a straight thru cable, you can tell by the wire colors.

The cable that Petey posted will work.

Is it just a regular Cat 5 network cable they have at Lowes, Office Depot, Walmart, etc?
It uses rj12 connectors on the ends. Ethernet network cables are Cat 5 (or higher) and use rj45 connectors on the ends. Inside the the Ethernet cables, the wire pairs are twisted together to mitigate some physical issues with high frequency signals going thru a solid copper wire.
