I have been loading 26.7 grs. of H322, 70 gr. Sierra Match Kings, and CCI BR-4 primers in a 40X with a 27.5 barrel with 1;14 twist. It will regularly shoot .2" groups. As always, start well below this load for your gun.

It depends on which one you want to discuss. There are two version; one for AR platforms with an OAL of 2.260" and one for bolt action rifles at 2.480" OAL.

I've been shooting the longer version in bolt action rifles for a number of years for depredation hunting of small animals. Some of this was accomplished on farms in South Africa and a couple of other nations. Several PHs requested a lightweight small caliber rifle for these hunts because of the number of shots in a short period of time both for hot barrels and fatigue. The 6mmx47 was perfect and could be suppressed nicely.

At that time we were using 20" and 22" barrels with suppressors but loading Nosler 85 gr. Partitions. The powders over there were usually SomChem but over here we have found good results from Re-10x and Accurate 2015. There are other powders but these two work quite well. I suggest starting with the lower end faster powders and work up slowly.

This bullet will also harvest deer when shot placement and accurate range finding is applied to shorter distances. The newer Barnes 80 gr. TTSX is another good solution for deer.

For Prairie dogs and such, the Hornady 87 gr. VMAX is terrific.

I plan to load for a prairie dog hunt tonight, I use 27.2 H322. 55 Nozler ballistic tip in my 40x. I love to shoot it.
