No. I just use a mandrel to round out the mouths. I discovered that virgin brass is at its optimum size for my chamber after 2 firings; resizing virgin brass is futile at best, damaging at worst.

I’ve done it both ways and honestly haven’t noticed much difference. I’m not saying it’s not there, but it’s smaller than I expected. It could just be my chambers. Mileage may vary.

I lightly champher the necks on the inside run an expander .001 smaller than the .243 bullets I load my 6br for-- load and shoot. That is with lapua brass. I also check the flash holes for burrs and if any take them out with a pin punch.

I have a customer right now with 200rds of loaded 6.5x284 he has to pull because he loaded them straight from the box. You do it very long and you will get bit.

I run mine over a mandrel, chamfer, deburr and fire. I cannot recall ever having to pull one, but I totally believe it happened or at least could happen.
