Do we like G10 for pillars?

I've tried G10 for pillars. It's got great compressive strength...but way more than is needed for a pillar. Plus, it's not as adaptable for shapes. For me, aluminum gives everything needed with the additional flexability to machine it to whatever profile fits the project.

Two cents worth on an early Christmas Eve over my first cuppa'. :) -Al

I agree. I have fussed over so many different things when it comes to bedding. Most of it just doesnt show on target. We fuss over bedding a little too much. It has to be done right, but I can guarantee that you will not see a difference on target with different epoxies or pillar materials. When a rifle comes in for accuracy issues the number one thing I see with regards to bedding is screws that are too long that bottom out in the action. Screws bound up in the pillar is a close second.

Speedy has used G10 for pillars for many years. For those that are unfamiliar, G10 is really strong stuff, glass fiber and epoxy, light strong and the coefficient of expansion is very close to steel.
