Do it yourself Stabil feet

So I get this message from Rod that my IBS topped Zilla is good to go,
and a good 4 months earlier then expected. !! A typical unboxing, and
see what I need to put it in action. First off is the Bench Rite stabil feet
that came with it. They are the disc type to set the points in. I decided
to make a set similar to the ones I made for my Bald Eagle. I still have
an account with McMaster Carr that I've used for years. The standard
knobs used on most Bald Eagles, were on the shelf, and ordered 3. The
steel swivel adjusters I used on the first project, I ordered 3 more. The
1/2-13 screws came with the rest as did locking collars. All the parts
came to $92 shipped and tax added. I could have found them cheaper
but not as nice......I'll get these mounted up shortly. In the meantime, I
need to find my non skid tape for the bottom of the feet. I kept everything
black to match the all black rest.

The foot swivels also have a model with a rubberized vibration
insert. My first project used these, but found they slid to easy on
a concrete bench. I now just get the plain steel and use anti skid
tape from a local pool supply. Rubberized gutter tape works also,
found at Home depot. I have to run over to Tractor Supply and see
if they have some knobs to adjust the top bag. It only has set screws
installed. Couple of tension springs to go with them. I'm really pleased
with this rest, and the workmanship that went into it. Just need to add
my own touches. I just can't leave sh_t alone.....LOL

Your pricing will be higher. I get a discount.

Feet are installed. I epoxied the knobs to the screws and just
hand hand tightened the leveler's. They spin freely and will
make for fast leveling adjustments. Now these feet raise the
rest about 1.125"and not a concern since the Rodzilla gets pretty
low. However, too tall to fit back into that nice case Rod sends
with his unit. No problem. the feet only takes about a minute
to remove. I'll probably just cover it, and lay it in the trunk of my
car where the Bald Eagle always sat. Besides, with some foam,
it will be perfect for my lab radar and spotting scope to travel
with......All I need now is the bag, Protektor is making for me.

2 beer job....

Nice! What was the lead time for your rest, if you don't mind saying. I'm contemplating one.
