Do I have to champher if I don't need to trim?

I was told that the 6.5x47 was easy on the brass and that often trimming wasn't needed but I didn't believe it till I saw it for myself. I measred 30 of the 100 cases I shot earlier this week and they were still all at 1.840. Do I need to champher and debur them if I don't trim? I wouldn't think so, but it's nice to hear other opinions.

thanks, also i noticed that the brass isnt very dirty either, what is the easiest way to clean primer pockets, and do i even need to lube the cases if i am only shoulder bumping and have the nitride bushing for the neck?

I like the Sinclair primer pocket uniformer which cleans pockets too, there are many other types of tools to clean pockets. I'd lube the cases anyway, get one stuck and I'm sure you'll wonder why you stopped using lube.

I only champher, de-bur, and finish spin in steel wool, after I trim. I always wax my cases before any kind of sizing. That includes neck sizing with T-I-N coated bushings in an arbor press. The more pressure required to push the case in the greater the chance to push things out of alignment from being fired in your chamber.

I always run new brass over a mandrel and then inside champher before I load it so the bullets go in smooth with out gouging the jackets.

Once I need to trim I use a Giurard and it inside and outside champhers when it trims.

Lightly chamfer to remove carbon on rim of neck and run a cleaning brush in the neck to smooth out carbon deposits.
