DIY power unit project

I have a paper shredder that broke but the motor still works. It's small, high speed and high torque. It could work with a primer pocket cleaner/uniformer/crimp remover. I need a coupler for the shaft which incidentally is not smooth. Its a worm gear (?) but a coupler should work on it. I got nothing to do so I'm gonna try to make a power unit. I got to figure out how to make a housing but first the coupler before anything else.

It has an on/off switch that also reverses the motor which I don't think I'll need. I may need some help stream lining the wiring to just have a simple on/off switch so maybe one of you electrical savvy guys can help out.

Why not just turn it on with the present switch, but only use the forward setting ?
Yes I can I just didn't want so many wires. It may be the easiest way to go.

Aside from that a housing out of sheet metal or have a housing 3D printed by someone, I don't have a 3D printer myself.

i know you alread have that but a food mixer ( cake ) at walmart for $15 is good and easy to convert plus you have 2 outputs one foward and one reverse .

i thought of using one of them some time ago. got multiple speeds and removable shafts ect. seems like it would work good

Ive got one I made 30 plus years ago . It has been a time saver . I used the old Lee case length trimmers , chamfer and a primer pocket cleaner . The primer pocket cleaner is the only one i can run in the counter rotating shaft

if it were me i would just measure the out side of the worm, fine a steel sleeve that will slide tight over it... drill a couple holes for set screws or see if you could drill through the shaft for a cross bolt... than adapt that to what ever you would like for your other end.. ... if you know anyone with a lathe that will help.. or if you were confident in run out with sleeve tightness just tig weld it in position
