DIY Co-axial Shooting T-REST

Here are step by step video serial on how I built my first shooting rest for the F Class and Benchrest disciplines in my modest home workshop as my friends call it "the Lab”.
Coaxial mechanism with linear bearing in the heart ensures precision and smooth movement without backlash and idling...mostly modeled on the T-Rex concept in my humble opinion, currently the best front shooting rest as well as SEB MAX and few others.

Very nice! Something I have plans to make for myself in the near future. Would be a fun project to do during the winter months.

Paul
Thanks Paul,
I started during the last winter and after 3 months T-Rest sees the light of day.
Most of my time I spent in defining the correct dimensions and proportions because I did not have any sample or specimen of this kind of shooting rest or any input parameter...making it even more "fun"
If you decide for this "fun" project, I am at your disposal..., from this distance (Montenegro-European Western Balkans):)

Are you using Thompson linear bearings or something similar? Very nice work BTW
Thank you!
Yes, similar linear ball bearings. For precision, Asian manufacturers that are very cheap and high quality, the recommendation of my friend who is engaged in the production of CNC machines..., intended for much more demanding purposes.

Thanks Rich,

I am grateful for your impressions especially because they came from experience. It means a lot to me!
I would be happy if I can be at your disposal!

Vasko,
I googled the Harrison 600 vertical mill, and although it may have been available in the US, it appears to be quite popular in the UK and NZ. How old is yours? Is it similar to the old Bridgeports (that I grew up with)?

Have you tried your T-Rest yet?

Thanks again!

Alex
