Dirty Bird Swap Meet Shoot Aug22

Manatee gun club will be having a ( Casey Birchwood ) Dirty Bird Shoot Aug.22 along with a Swap Meet. Shoot will be on the new 600 YD range. First 16 to sign in will shoot the first relay. Shooting position will be done by random draw .
Sign in the office before coming to the range.
Pro Gun class will shoot this shoot at 300Yd At a 6'' Dirty Bird Target 4 targets will be for group and score 5 shots in each. Upper target is for unlimited sighters with a 30 minute time limit.
10 shooters One money 15 to 20 2 places 20 or more 3 places.

You can shoot twice for money but only the first shoot will be for gun club record.

Sign up will start at 8:00 Am and close for the first relay at 8:45 You will draw for bench number and have 15 min to get ready for shooting. 9:00 Am Start time

AR or hunting guns ( Welcome ) You can shoot for Fun & prizes or have 5 or more shoot for money.
Swap Meet is for All Buy or Trade or Sell

Dr Joe was shooting a 6 MM AR he shot a small . 830 5 shot Group for second money.
Billy shooting a Savage Won Small Group .616 High Score of 50 all X
His 4 target Group was .937 -13x

Was waiting for the official printed results. Never came so here's the winner, Billy Tolksdorf.



He used the Savage rifle behind him in Dasher, I think. You can see from his targets he had a perfect score of 200 from his 20 shots. That's not how it was scored and I never really figured that scoring thing out but Billy certainly outshot everyone else.

Dr. Joe Ignacio came in second using an AR format gun.

Tom Anderson was third. Fun shoot and harder than it looks. Much harder.

Questions to the Manatee "Dirty Bird" matches:
1 - I take it the upper middle target is a sighter target ?
2a - Is it shoot SR-BR style, where at any time during the record string sighter shots can be fired as well ?
2b - Or is it ran LR-BR style, when firing the record string there is no other rounds allowed, only the record 5-shot string ?
3 - How many shooters/participants do you average ?
4 - Is it exclusively 300yds ?

no 1 your are correct no 2 is correct 3 this is a new shoot we had 11 shooters. 4 when we get the target frames portable we can shoot out to 600 yds.
The next shoot we are going to try to get the AR type guns shooting. As you can see a custom AR Type gun can shoot 300 YDs We are open for help making AR class Rules. Any help will be welcome Larry

2A is the answer. You can go back at any time and shoot as many sighters you want during the 1/2 hour time period.

Results are:

First Place smallest 5 shot group. Bill Tolksdorf 0.616"
Second Place smallest 5 shot group. Joe Ignacio 0.856"

First Place highest 5 shot score. Bill Tolksdorf 50 / 5X
Second Place highest 5 shot score. Tom Anderson 50 / 4X

Think we used total score last time so the shoot is evolving. We may do that again. Billy Tolksdorf did shoot a perfect 200. I shot 198 and got all the fun and experience that comes with that. We have yet to shoot a .5" group. I did a .2" with four shots. Got the nothing I deserved.

Watched a fellow shoot a 6 PPC. He dialed up that T36 and went for it. Shot well and he was happy. Hoping more short-range benchrest shooters use this as an opportunity to practice as their cartridges do work at 300 yards.
