Thanks for all the input on my previous post regarding the sooting problem.
well i gradually increased the load of RL15 from 31. to 32.4 in .1g increments using 105 bergers.
The sooting problem has cleaned up after increasing the load.
my velocity increases 10 fps per .1 grain so my current velocity is 3040 @ 32.4 grains with absolutely no signs of pressure...i have verified this with two chronographs.
Accuracy @ 32.3g was good, i had seven shots within .5" group and three more outside the group opening up to 1".
Should i carry on increasing the load .1 grain increments until i hit max?
I thought these velocities were only achievable in a wildcat 6br!!!
Also i tried some 115 DTAC from my 6XC, my velocity was 2900fps which was the same as my old 6XC with no pressure signs, accuracy wasnt that great about 1.5" group...i dont think my 8 twist was enough spin for these bullets.
Could this be a "hummer" in the making?
