Dillon RL 550 b Question About Powder Measure

I purchased, used, a Dillon machine. It came with extra parts including a powder measure. The measure will not clamp tightly to the powder die. Is this for a different model? Also has a double linkage where the powder bar return rod goes into. What do I have?

Sounds like you have the right powder measure and it attached with a pair of socket head bolts right at the collar. There are many videos showing how to setup or you could always give me a call.

Get a manual. Buy the DVD. Call Dillon.
I've always left the powder measure collar loose enough to turn bolts by hand.

Thanks for your replies. The clamp on the powder measure was not completely loose. It was stuck. When it went down all of the way on the die. it tightened up just fine.

On another note, if you are loading a rifle cartridge, such as a .30/06, what trips the powder measure? Pistol cartridges use the neck expanding drop tube to accomplish this.
Thanks

Caliber conversion kit, specific for every caliber, contains the powder funnel and brass pins for the caliber you are loading. Case activated powder system operates off of this.

Check out Dillon's website - download the manual and video. BOTH will answer many questions - NOT a waste of your time.
