Dillon 550 ejector wire

I finally made the leap and purchased a Dillon 550. I went full hog and purchased the uniquetek turbo bearings along with several other upgrades. Unfortunately I'm having a problem with the ejector wire colliding with the shell plate and the index sprocket.

There seems to be more clearance with the stock index sprocket. I'm not sure if the turbo bearing kit is worth using.

I'm slowly adjusting the wire using my diamond stone and pliers but it's slow going. I've almost got it but there is still a little drag. I'm a bit concerned the drag will cause extra cartridge run out.

This from a guy who's Dillon was the original 450 with none of the automated features. What a PIA ! ....... Trying to interpret your question I'm thinking the ejector wire you're referring to is actually the feed ramp wire ? If so, its not uncommon for the wire to need some tweaking to find a happy medium between feeding say, 45ACP or .223 ......... On my press the wire simply needed more "arch" along with an adjustment of the feed wire set screw (length of reach)......... Yes, its tedious but with a little patience you'll come to a happy medium that will feed all cases without dragging or preventing the index sprocket from turning. Hope this helps

The feed ramp wire is fine. The ejector wire is the problem. There's a couple threads on the subject but nobody really provides a good resolution. I guess I'll keep making minor adjustments to it.

My first thought is that you do not have the case holder tight enough. You should not be able to wiggle it and it should still turn if properly adjusted. I have been using a 550 since the 1980`s and have never heard of the bearing your speaking of, guess I`ll have to check their catalog and see what`s new.

You sure the center retaining bolt isn't way to tight. Adjust it to take most of the play out of it and it should turn super easy with or without the bearing. The ejector wire is only pushed into the frame and can be adjusted up or all the way down. PM me with questions.
