Dillon 550 Complete Setup

I have been nagging myself to maybe go to the Dillon Square Deal complete setup & i am wanting to know how much would the entire setup set me back i know that Dillon is expensive so let me know what you fellas think. my current handgun press is the Lee Classic Turret Press & the Lee Pro Auto Disk measure & the Lee Saftey Prime system & i am telling ya i can crank out some very accurate rounds with it & that old saying keeps coming to mind "If it ain't broke don't fix it " Let me know what any of you guys think about this

The square deal b is not a 550 as it is limited to pistol rounds and the .30 carbine round. You would be better off with the 550 but keep in mind that the press comes with 1 conversion only and each one is approximatly 50.00 for the next caliber. The press is something like 439.00 right now if you can find one.I would stick with what you have till the reloading nightmare is over and then make a decision when they become available again.

The main advantage to me in upgrading reloading equip to a Dillon press is the volume of ammo you can produce in a short time. With a properly set up 550B or square deal you can crank out a lot of rounds pretty quickly. Dillon advertises 300-500 rounds per hour for the square deal and the 550B from 400 - 600 per hour. You can add a case feeder to the 550B for pistol ammo and increase the production rate even more. I have both a 550B and a XL650 and have used a square deal. I felt the square deal was a little flimsy after I using my 550B.

If you don't need the volume, its an expensive change over to make.
