DFW/North Texas Gunsmith

None better than Mike Bryant. https://bryantcustom.com/about. Known Mike for 25years. I would also recommend Pete Pieper-http://www.precisionbarrelwork.com/ I've known Pete for about 25 years also. I would never let distance limit me in search of a craftsman. UPS and USPS covers the World and cheaper than driving to your special person.
Dusty is right, you don't need to drop in on your smith cuddling your sweet baby and spending an hour of their time.

I guess I didn't understand something about the OP's original question which was "Looking for a good gunsmith in the D/FW area". Or was it "Looking for a UPS drop-off in the D/FW area"? Maybe, just maybe, he doesn't want to ship his rifle. Maybe he wants to talk to the smith face to face? Maybe some folks just have to comment, just to comment.....

I agree with you comment....

You might contact Alamo Precision in Hurst, not sure if they will do a Mauser or not. Richard King is in Arlington, you might look him up also.

Actually it could be better to suggest the very very good smiths that have been in the business for over 25 years that we "know" are very honest, do excellent work, and in a timely manner. These things are way more important to me than being close. Not saying any bad things about any local guys, but I've know these guys and have seen a lot of there work over the years.

Yeah, I have a local guy that does barrels for me. I've dropped in on him many times and hung around and visited while he chambered. Never seemed like he dreaded it, matter of fact, I think we both enjoyed the visit. Kelton Tx is just up the road from me, and Mike does great work.

Crimson accuracy in Argyle. Johnny does very good work. Not sure if he does mauser stuff, but his BR, FClass, hunting rifle, and long range type builds hes done for me hold their own. He used to work for Stick at S&S before they sold out or closed up, started his own place a few years back.

New names for this question? I need to have front sight "ears" reinstallled on a 1917 '06. I am willing to ship it, but a lot of guy don't want to mess with this task or have the skill to do it.

And his shop is about 12 Miles from Wheeler. His shop is also about 3 miles to Kelton. I've been there many times. Thanks for your input Mr. Knowitall.
Chuckle chuckle, By the way, do you know Mike's address? It ain't Kelton,.Tx. Dr., It is like mine. I live in Poetry, Tx, but my mail goes 15 miles away to Terrell, Tx.
Sorry I pissed in your cereal!
