Deviant to Deviant barrel swap

I have a defiance deviant in a repeater model for a 6.5x47 lapua but just bought a single shot in the same action. can I just thread my barrel into the other action or do I need to send it to the smith. thanks for any help on this

You should be able to do that, most of them are really close, but it sure won't hurt to double check the headspace....

If you have both actions in hand-

The dimensions from both are in front of you.
(unless you are in handcuffs, behind your back)

true but I don't have the other yet I guess a go gauge would let me know though

Go Gauge would work. If you have access to a depth micrometer, with firing pin out of the bolt, measure from bolt face to action face (including recoil lug), that's the measurement that matters. That will tell you how close they are to each other.
