I ordered a 1lb container of this stuff and when I opened it there was clear residue sweating out or on the container! The containers where plastic with no visible cracks and after I unscrewed the caps the seals where okay. Dark gray was the color I ordered and the hardener is white right? So am I okay to use it or is this stuff good until you mix it?

It should be good.

Mix it to the right ratio (I use a scale following the directions on the can) and see if it hardens up in the correct time.

I like that! I should of thought of just testing a small amount.

You could also run the lot/production code by the manufacturer via email and see if it is good. Epoxy does have a shelf life.

The hardener is amber clear color.

This is perfectly fine. The clear residue is actual epoxy resin (the stuff that polymerizes and becomes solid). The black substance of cold peanut butter thickness is a mixture of styrene and pulverised steel. They do not polymerize themselves, but add stiffness and eliminate shrinkage. You need to mix that clear stuff with entire black stuff thoroughly before adding catalzing agent (white stuff in a separate container)
