Rolled into the field tonight with the intention of cleaning out some closer to the buildings so I loaded up the 20" Contender chambered in .17 Ackley Hornet with the 20 gr. V-Max. A pup, first for the season was standing up not far from thr truck but do to the angle I couldn't shoot. It finally went down when I was 15 feet from it. I got to the spot I had picked and setup the BogPod and within minutes the little thing was back up and at 60 yards the V-Max decapitated it. Reloaded and minutes later Mom showed up and one in the noodle put her down. Sorry guys the pictures are just to gory to post. I turned around to check the lower field and there is one with just it's head and neck above a log at the base of a tree at 102 yards. Setup and sent it and watched the hit in the scope. I waited a bit and prepared for a walk when a car rolled in the lane so I wrapped it up because I only hunt within several hundred yards of thier buildings when nobody is around. It is a preserved historical farm and the fields are leased by the farmer. Some of the artsy/historical types know they don't want the chucks but don't really want to be part of the killing! :
Three down in 20 minutes and felt like a Delta Force raid! ;D
