It's definitely hard to beat the Kelbly Atlas for value in Canada

Seems to me $2300 is expensive I remember the Defiance being around $1899 for a polished Deviant

I have an Impact but I've always had the itch to try a Defiance I'll probably try one next for the same reasons you read about.

I recommend reaching out to Harley at Insite Arms for your next build. They carry a lot of stuff in stock and build hammers. Sounds like they are cheaper than what your paying too

They range anywhere from 1850-2000 for polished standard bolt face or mag bolt face short action. And long action Lapua bolt face 2000-2250. All said and done the deviant and terminus both ran me at the 2300 mark.

I have a build from Harley and they did a great job. He built my 6 creed on the kelbly, and built the latest 6.5 prc on the dlc’d deviant

There's a lot of bias even amongst gunsmiths in regards to actions.

In the US, it seems a bit regional (for PRS style gunsmiths anyways). The NW seems to have a preference for Defiance, as Defiance is located in Montana. Oklahoma and TX is Impact. Utah area Lone Peak. Louisiana is Defiance. The NE loves Bighorns/Zermatt. In the Dakota's, ARC is a fan favorite for one of the big gunsmiths.

It should be telling that there is no one stand out favorite. Lots of great actions available today, with their own subtleties and nuances. It's really easy to overthink it, but at the end of the day it's hard to make a bad choice.

Lone Peak, ARC, Defiance, Impact: it does not seem to matter. Pick one and shoot the wheels off of it. If you want to cycle the bolt once and put it on the wall, then be real careful. All of these actions seem to run and have their nuances. It's really just a personal preference. Only real decision seems to be picking if you want AW magazines or not. Then pick the action.

The Kelbly Atlas and other Kelbly actions are real nice from my experience..YMMV

I was getting ready to buy a BAT TR, then a used BAT tactical popped up. Basically a BAT VR made for Wolf Precsion i believe. Checked off almost all of my boxes and several hundred cheaper than new. I will be putting this one together in my shop, so ill see how it goes. I may be tempted to try the elite in the future or a Fuzion.
