Deep Creek Shooter, Jack Peterson

Blaster-37

1000 Yard
I have bad news. Our friend and fellow shooter Jack Peterson has died.
He was one of the foundation 1000 yard shooters at Deep Creek in Missoula, MT for many years. There has never been a nicer guy. He never hesitated to do anything for anyone that needed help. He always had a smile and a kind word for every shooter. I can not say enough good about this great shooter.
He will be missed.

FYI, the funeral will be Saturday, January 3rd, 14:00 at Garden City Funeral home in Missoula. It might be a good day to hold our annual meeting also with so many coming in for the funeral... I think Jack would like that.

Much respect and condolence....... to the Peterson family and friends.

Shot against Jack one weekend in 2007 and again this past summer, we spoke on both occasions. Very friendly and gracious man.

Betting he's up above, shooting Benchrest, smiling down at us, right now....

I heard the news today while in Missoula. I was heart broken. Jack was such a great man, shooter, gunsmith, machinist and innovator. Give him a piece of metal or aluminum and put him to work on his lathe and he could build anything. Anybody that saw his equipment knows that! Could ask him anything about shooting and he would have a answer. Jack, you will be missed dearly. We still had lots of gophers to shoot. Rest in peace.

When I heard that Jack had left the range, I was saddened. I have great memories of Jack and his abilities. Jack was a good shooter, a great tinkerer, an inventor, and so much more. He always had a kind word with help and inspiration. A great friend to all that knew him, he will be missed.
My condolences to his family and to the Deep Creek family for a great loss.
