Deep Creek 25th anniversary rifle

Bat was kind enough to donate an aluminum Neuvo to Deep Creek for the 25th anniversary championship match. The winner of that match had me put this rifle together for him on that action he won. Its a 6.5x47 which is suiting since thats what he used to win the action with. I inletted and pillar bedded the LRB stock, the first one in this color. Purple and orange, I really like it. Looks even better in person. Bix n Andy trigger, straight 1.250 Bartlien barrel. Its in its 22lb configuration right now. But its only a heavy varmint contour away from being a 17lb light gun again. Kind of a special build for me. I had been pushing for years to get an aluminum Bat. Almost had Bruce on board, then covid happened. Finally thanks to Chris Harris, it happened. I believe in the dampening of the aluminum, and lack of stress. Plus the time I spent at Deep Creek. The Deep Creek tracker and the fiberglass version which I called the LRB all have their roots at Deep Creek. Just a cool rifle, at least for me.

Beautiful rifle and great work as always. Those aluminum BATs are intriguing. I haven’t got to handle one in person yet, but I’d love to check one out one day. Nice work!

I've seen this when calibrating both aluminium and stainless load cells on an Instron. There's more deflection on the aluminium load cells when doing a cal curve. There's something to your observation that aluminium actions agg better.
