IDK if I can make it Lonnie as a competitor, I might be able to get my 11 lb ready but the gun your brother built me I have never rung out and my other two are tore down I think. Maybe I can bring the 11 for Sunday and just help out in the pits. I really miss all you guys!

Ray,

It's still a "regular" match and so there's no exemption as far as I know of for membership. Although it's not a requirement, I would just spend the 45 bucks, as you never know what you might shoot here.

I know entree fee is $10 extra per target, so if I had to guess you're looking at $40 per gun per day, but Lonnie will have to verify that. I might be including center pot there?

Tom

Wow! $40.00 per target kinda steep, plus you have to pay $45.00 to join the club.
No thanks.

At any other shoot you will get 4 to 6 targets per gun for that kind of money.

Championship shoot with a good size prize table? Nationals are not much cheaper, except they honor our membership.. I feel honoring each others membership increases turn out..

Less entrant fee = 1) less purse paid, 2) smaller/lesser prize table, 3) less free food to eat

That match is a "wash" and there barely breaking even each year on it.

I say make it $50 a target and add more purse, prize, and food yet !.!.!

And those are Aggregate Ranked matches your writing of, aren't they?
Montana's is Relay Ranked.... a whole different "ball game".

At Relay Ranked, there is not much room for error, with no favored or excuses to conditions and draws. You have to perform every time your up, and will be rewarded (by rank) for doing so, and equally in the worse condition relays.

Myself I wouldn't mind seeing 3 targets per class over 3-days, but I like the format as is, and strongly feel the Relay Rank scoring format is the fairest scoring format for running big matches.

My 2-cents

The old Williamsport PA. 10 rounds per target discipline where you were shooting against every other shooter (not just your relay)
showed who won overall period, not by points. Which, by the way, is how most all shooting disciplines are run. When shooting against your relay, you may out score & group 8 to 10 others. Relay rank! (sic)

Yes, we charge $10 more per target for this match. Everyone who signs up gets a free t-shirt. Club logo on the front with a big NIGHTFORCE emblem on the back, so that's a $20 value right there. Our club fee is $35 for the season. A lot of our prizes are donated by sponsors, but some of them are offered to us at a discounted price, so I have to send them a check. Will be spending close to $7,000 of club money for this match for a prize table that will be over $25,000, so I think its worth the entry fee. Gary, if you just hit the center shot pot you will get your money back!! For the people who have been paying their dues, (taxes) all season this is our way of giving them a REFUND!
And WAYNE, now that we know your still alive, you better show up. You got time to get a gun ready. Or bring your knife and you can carve on the pig!
