Deburring Flash-holes???

i just got an RCBS flash-hole deburring tool. not sure if i like it yet.

anyway, how do i know how much to remove? i cant really tell how much material i'm removing when i use it. i just dont want to adjust it to remove too much and ruin a bunch of my cases.

thanks
Jeremy

I have 2 Sinclair flash hole deburring tools and they have a "stop" on the tip. I don't believe you can remove enogh to mess up the cases if you are deburring by hand.

The cases should be trimmed to the same length before using the RCBS deburring tool. The RCBS tool has a stop collar that contacts the mouth of the case. Find a case that does not have a burr around the flash hole .Insert the tool inside the case and set the lock coller. Turn it a few times to see if it is cutting a bit of brass. If it is, you got the tool set.
