deal or no deal?

Just won this on Gunbroker.This will be my first BR gun. I shoot LR pistol benchrest but this is my first rifle. The fellow that has the gun stated his father who is now deceased had this gun built in 1994 and suffered a stroke about 2 mths later and only put about 20 rds down the tube according to him.Its a .262 tight neck.Whats your thoughts on it for an entry level gun for a beginner?Priced out, what do ya think its would cost to build it?

Since the auction included the 36X Leupold scope, AND brass, AND bullets, AND 3 Dies, I'd say you got the whole rifle for about the price of a bare Rem action. I'm figuring the scope's worth at least $400 these days, maybe more.

You are OK. You will probably have to turn necks, just have to wait till the rifle arrives and see what the neck dimension is. I will give you a tip; if the neck is a .262 then order 50 preprepped brass cases from Ron Hoehn and use them until you can purchase all the stuff you need for turning necks. The Hoehn brass has the further advantage of already being weight sorted.

Get some H322 powder and some target quality primers and you are set.
