I wish I was there too Mike but have to pick my battles at work!!!

I wish you and everyone else shooting the best of luck!!

I see in F-Open that from the top 6 competitors, only 2 points separate them! Excellent shooting! Can you imagine how each of those guys felt, KNOWING that at anytime, any one of them could end up being the winner! Fabulous competition!

Interesting - I read that they did not squad the leaders on the same relay for the final day of the match. They are spread out all over 4 relays. That seems.... weird to me.

Why is it weird? I suspect to ensure everyone has a shot at shooting in early (usually milder) conditions they would move everyone around. Has happened in every big match I have ever shot.

I agree Jay the leaders should have been squaded together and shot in the same relay for the final day.

I guess your experience has been different from mine - generally, IME, the practice is to squad the leaders together on the last day so that someone in competition for the win doesn't get hosed by bad relay. Or, vice versa, win on account of a bunny relay. I totally agree with the notion of moving guys around for the first few days, but the home stretch should be an even race.

Yes, we all pay lip service to the "cream will rise to the top" notion, but the fact is, you put two apples-to-apples shooters against each other and one catches a no-wind relay while the other catches a 20mph, constantly switching relay, who is more likely to win out? Them's the breaks, but I think the match directors should take some care to make the finish as even as possible.

Good points! I can't launch a defensible alternative to what you are suggesting. Guess I need to get closer to the leaders in big matches to have a better perspective on squading. Usually I just pray it blows like the dickens on their relays!
