Bore diameter was .2405"(major) no idea on the minor diameter. My calipers aren't blunt tip.
Did you say that the barrel in question was a three groove most people don't have the right tools to even measure the actual bore you said you slugged the barrel what was the outside diameter of the slug after shoving it out of the barrel thanks again.

OD on two land major diameter, .2405, every time I pulled slug. The busing used was .2368.
I personally don't think it was bore an groove dimensions it was the wrong twist.

Prefect eight twist, measured it from breech to muzzle, muzzle to breech and the OAL of the barrel. All indicated a spot on 8" twist.

MEANING NO DISRESPECT THE INFO GIVEN HERE ABOUT THE LIGHT BULLETS SHOOTING BUGHOLES AN HEAVY BULLETS SHOOTING MOA OR ABOUT I HAVE NEVER SEEN THAT I HAVE SEEN A BARREL SHOOT NOT GREAT IN A 8TWIST THE TWIST YOU SPOKE OF SHOULD HAVE GIVE BETTER RESULTS THAN WHAT YOU GIVE THE TARGETS YOU POSTED TELLS THE STORY IN MY OPINION I FEEL YOU GOT A BAD READ ON YOUR METHOD OF CHECKING TWIST RATE.

Trust me, I'm in as much disbelief as you. That twist was measured with a 24 vernier caliper and a lead slug. I asked them to leery me know, but i bet it's not the twist. I'm guessing bore diameter.
the math in bore and groove with what you say your reading as far as twist if you are correct does not match I have never seen those kind of results I don't think bore an groove being fat would cause that much difference in accuracy.
I've seen light bullets shoot good and heavy bullets shoot bad in a properly twisted rifle. Turned out to be bedding as the recoil from the lighter weight bullets were not creating the same condition as the heavier bullets and something was making contact.
That said, I believe George, you would come across a lot better if you could annunciate and spell to save your life.

I originally thought it was me, i was causing the issue. After voiding all other options, it has to be the barrel.

You know I am just an old redneck I have probably forgot more than you know about gun barrels than you know read between the lines if you don't like my grammer I don't care what anybody sees of my grammar .
There is one thing for sure I have being doing this stuff for about 30 years very few complaints.

No sir I was just trying to comprehend what was going wrong with his barrel I guess the best thing for me is probably just read these post folks put on here an leave the problem solving to the experts on here.
