Dasher trimming after fireforming?

Hey all. I am somewhat new to the dasher and have run in to an issue. I did the false shoulder method to FF my brass, but after shooting it the necks on the brass has a high side. I know (or at least think I know) that it needs to be trimmed. I have a Lee trimmer setup for a .243, but cant trim the brass to the proper length. My question is if there is a Lee cutting tool for a dasher or if there is a way to trim the neck of the case without buying a giraud trimmer for the 100 cases I have. If all else fails is there someone who would let me pay them to trim my cases to a uniform length? Any help is appreciated.

Are you saying the length is different or that the necks are thicker? It is unclear to me what happened to the brass using the false shoulder. Mine is considerably shorter using the False shoulder 1.535 usually, compared to 1.550 using the "jam" method. YMMV

If I were to set my brass on a flat surface and take a picture you would see one side of the neck is slightly higher than the other. It is probably a couple thousandths. I cant find a Lee trimmer length tool for the Dasher so I cant trim them.
The shoulders are uniform but the neck came out lopsided. It almost seems like the ball I used to make the false shoulder method, (.257) if I remember correctly, shifted the neck over just enough that when it was shot one side of the neck stretched (or didnt stretch) as much as the other side making on part of the neck slightly higher than the opposite side. I hope that description helps.

OAL is around 1.5xx from case to case when measuring on the higher side of the neck. Should I just shoot it and see if the other side comes up?

John, find the shortest point from ALL your brass and trim it to that length... That would make all of them the same...

Lee does not list a trimmer for the dasher. But you can call them and they will make any diameter and length you want. But it will cost you?

I shot mine a few times and made sure they were good and formed. I don't know how but they all came out the same length...I know they didn't start all the same but they ended that way.

I periodically check a few and they don't move from that 2-3rd firing length. At least mine haven't...

Good luck.

Maybe I am missing something in this process, but I use a Forrester Trimmer (looks like the Wilson) with the .243 pilot for the neck and cutter set to the desired length for the Dasher/6BRX/6BR cases. Simple to use and efficient with the new cutter that also champhers the mouths.

The Wilson trimmer is excellent and very affordable. I used Lee until I figured out there was some abrasion to the inside of the neck going on from using it. I looked at a lot of trimmers. I didn't like the ones that hold the case by the base, either. With the Wilson you can set the trim length where you want it (unlike the Lee) and you will get a very square cut on the case mouth.

If you have a Lee 6 br stud, stone it down to the proper length or make one out of a 6mm cut it off and drill it and put a decaping pin in it. They are hard and the proper diameter .059 for the Dasher....... jim
