Dasher superformance load

I am needing a starting point for a load of superformance powder and Berger 105 vld. It is for my deer rifle 22" barrel. 31.6 gr of varget is about all I can burn. Just trying to see if I can get a little more speed. Any personal data or quickload data is geatly appreciated. Thanks

My guess is you need a faster burning powder for the short barrel.
I have a 23 in Dasher barrel that N-135 shot well in with good velocity.
I shot up to 87 gr bullets in it. My guess is it would do well with the
105's also. 33.5 to 34 gr worked for the 87's.
Start lower with the 105's, maybe 32 gr's??

I will have to see if I can find some. I have been using varget because I have a large supply for my f class rifle. I guess a person can never have too many types of powder around.

I just built another Dasher for deer/coyotes with a 22" 8 twist and run the 105's at 2950 with Varget or R-15.

I never subscribed to the theory that you need to run faster powders in short barrels.

I am running a suppressor but, I could not get any more velocity over 31.6 grains with varget . I tried up to 32 the other day and the gain was 5 fps. I am getting 2800 with 105's

Don't know what else to tell you. I ran either R-15 or Varget to a little over 3000 in the 22" barrel, but the accuracy is at 2950 with either powder. Have you tried going over 32 grains? Maybe that'll get you into the next node. I shoot moly plated bullets, and I start higher than where you're at now......

I've got another 22" Dasher, and run 95 VLD's at 3060.

Jim, I'm up to my ears in R-15 and Varget....no way am I gonna stock any thing else.....

Even with a 3.5-10 CDS on top, it's plenty accurate to 600 for any coyote that wants to test me. I haven't shot it further.....yet.

Al, I use RL-15 but i use long free bores and my loads are 33-34 range with the 105's. ...... jim

Mine's a .104" and running 34 grains of R-15 with the moly's.

I don't wanna shoot up my "good" Varget .........

Al, I use .155 FB. my Varget i use to Fire form, it doesn't shoot with the RL-15 ..must be the air out there.LOL' jim
