Dasher sizing problems

So I'm using lapua blue box brass. No neck turn dasher. My loaded rounds measure .268. I'm using a Redding bushing die with a .266 bushing. After I size my brass the bullet will push in with my fingers?? I can remove the expander button and it will work fine with a .266 bushing?? Do I need a tighter bushing?? A fired case measures .269.5? Thanks!

Take out the expander ball and your all set. The expander ball is removing the neck tension that you bushing is putting on it and is probably intended for a no turn neck.

I have a no turn neck?? Also somtimes my necks get dented so how will I get them round again with no expander ball? Thanks!

You have a few options, here. If you have the means, you can polish the expander ball down until it just fits inside the neck of a sized case with your .266" bushing. You can also contact Redding to see if they can accommodate you on this with a custom expander ball, if you prefer (pretty sure they can do that). Finally, you can use an expanding die prior to using your bushing die (without the expander ball/mandrel installed) to iron out the cases with dented necks.

Myself, I would probably use an expander die initially, and just leave the mandrel out of the bushing die. That would just be my own preference, though.

I find it easier to use and expander die and mandrel than trying to screw on and off an expander ball on a decapping pin. Like Toolbreaker said run them through the expander die first then re-size them with the bushing die.

Gently press the brass down on a loaded round. The will be round again.

I polished my sizer ball with 2000 grit sandpaper down .001.5. And now it works great with my .267 bushing with a .001 neck tension. The expander ball orinally measure .244? Seems a little biG?

The expander ball is too big. Either call Redding and get a replacement or polish it up.

My full length bushing die has no problems my neck die did.

It's an easy fix but frustrating as heck to try and figure out.

Don't use the expanded ball . Larry

Use the expander ball to remove the dents from brass that have them, but only run the neck in the expander and do not run the entire brass in the die. Then, remove the expander and run the die without it. You'll be all set then.
