Dasher loads 87gr vmax

Wondering what sort of varget loads people are using for 87gr vmax. I have run 32.9 today very successfully, but thinking it's probably fairly mild. Anyone have them running a bit harder?

I have been running 35 gr RL19 with 87gr Vmax in my 6 dasher Marlin X7 for 3238 mv, no problems of any kind. As always work up carefully. Barlow

Not quite the same, but I run 95gr VLDs with 31.5gr of 8208. It's very accurate in my rifle, and like you, I think it's a pretty mild load. If it's accurate, who cares if it's mild... brass life should be pretty nice. Although it seems a little ridiculous to use a dasher to launch bullets at normal 6br speeds :)

I never shot this over the chrono... maybe I'll try it tomorrow to see where it's at.
I have some of the 87gr vmax's but haven't tried them yet...

I run 32.8 of Varget in my straight br with the 87's with no pressure issues. So that has to be quite mild for the Dasher.

Last night I loaded up more at varying charges and up to 33.9gr of varget. This is in a rem 700 that hasnt had the firing pin bushed. Im using BR4's with the thicker cup due to this. Still no pressure signs apart from the primer having raised edges due to the firing pin. Bolt lift is fine, and no shiny marks on the case head. I think it will go higher fine. If anyone has quickload to do a prediction that would be great.

At 32.9gr on a 700m ICFRA f class target it was holding well below X ring vertical. At 33.9gr and at 100m it shot 3 shots into two holes. The second shot was jerked and was exactly 1 bullet hole left of the first hole. The third shot went into the first hole. There is potential with this load to shoot 1's fairly easy.

I have a 21 inch barrel so not expecting massive velocities- 3100fps would be nice. Ive loaded up some more to use on red fox this week hopefully, and expect them to work rather well.

Will do some more testing with increased charges up towards 34.5-35gr over the weekend.

I think you'll reach, or get higher than 3100fps. I chrono'd my 95gr vld load today (mentioned in previous post) and it's at 3005fps avg. I have plenty of room to go up, but the accuracy is superb... I'm not gonna play with it!

I do intend to play with the 87 vmax in the near future though. I'll save this thread for some starting loads.
