Dasher Brass-Stay w/Lapua or New Norma?

Only reason I mention it is because my one experience with SB dies was not good. Sized the web way too small, unnecessarily overworking the brass. A setup for premature case head separation.
Standard 308 dies are a dime-a-dozen and might save you money in the long run.
Well I have observed that if you buy a d3 or d4 set of dies from harrels precision it will take care of most sizing problems with a dasher

Most of the click I had was before I figured out there was something amiss with my FL die. It had to go back, along with some fired brass, in order to get the case head to size properly and the shoulder to bump correctly.

I have read the half dozen or so threads like this and I have to ask, how many firing are you guys expecting out of a piece of brass? 20-30?

For many (most?) of us 7-10 firing is good. 200 cases, a barrel, 2000-2500 bullets, 8# of powder and you have a built in expiration date. Run out of bullets, pull the barrel and toss it all in the trash. Repeat.

I wonder if the unhappiness with the Norma brass is an expectations issue, caused by some shooter who perfect xx pieces of brass and just use those same pieces 30 times? Not saying that's wrong, but that one size doesn't fit all.

Let me give some updates on my 6 Dasher and Alliant 2000MR. I received a new 7.5 twist barrel just like my old one after the 1000 Yard Nationals so I pulled the barrel that shot the Nats with and put on a new tube. Then I had a 6BR chambered for that rifle as well. The 6BR barrel wasn't working out in time for this month's local match so I decided to screw old faithful (that barrel that got me to 4th LG Group at Nationals) back on. Also decided to revisit seating depth before loading for it. I was somewhat surprised that the throat was gone; way gone. Bore scope revealed severe cracking about 4" up the barrel. So if you want to shoot 2000-MR and make the Dasher hum you should be prepared to have a to of tomato stakes.
But, curious as I am, I wanted to see just where the top could be with 105 Hybrids and 2000-MR. Yesterday, on the newer barrel (150 rounds), I had single rounds from 36.1 thru 37 grains at .009" off. The 37 grain charge registered on my Magnetospeed at 3153 FPS! Ambient temp was 64 degrees and humidity was near 60%. There were no signs of pressure and I am sure there is more left on the table. Guys are proud to get this from 6 Creedmoors with lots of H4350 and it is a much larger case.
Again, my results are mine and not guaranteed safe in your rifle. My brass is Lapua and primers CCI450.
