Dasher 600 Yards

Need advice on shooting my Dasher at 600 yards for the first time - am planning on shooting a 600 yard match at St. Louis next weekend August 10th. I have shot at varmint matches with this gun with come ups as follows using a Sightron SIII 8x32 with 1/4 minute clicks.

200 yards - 4 clicks up (using a 100 yard 0)
500 yards - 28 clicks up (using the same 100 yards zero)

Ideas on how many more clicks up from the 28 at 500 to the 600 yard line?

Thanks!

One of the ballistic programs would be helpful ,so when
going to 800 or 1000 you,ll have the come ups and at least be on paper.
"Shooter" works well for me.

Going to depend on the load you are shooting. Try filling this out: http://www.jbmballistics.com/cgi-bin/jbmtraj-5.1.cgi The resulting calculation will get you from very close to right on. For my Dasher combo, 42 clicks up from 100 is my normal 600 yard setting. At 600 yards, from clouds to bright sun may account for a different setting needed. Just don't ask me how many clicks to 540 to hit a balloon. I'm still trying to figure that out >:( My wife could help you with that number though ;D

Thanks one and all - sounds like 10 to 11 MOA should put me right in the 600 yard ballpark.

Thanks again!

Exactly 42 clicks to 600 yards today at St. Louis - great conditions cloudy and minimal wind. Thanks for the great advice!

Please do yourself a favor stop using clicks and learn to use MOA.

Glad it worked out for you.

James, sounds like it worked out for you. I had a shooting buddy that calls the adjustment ( clicks ), used to drive me nuts. It works for him, he is a bonified benchrester. This noway is meant to demean anyone that calls there adjustments clicks. It just happened to confuse me for a little while, which isn't hard to do, till I understood what he was talking about. ;D

Not so sure about minimum wind as on a few my sighters I went from all way edge of sight in plate at 9 o'clock to 3 o'clock on next sight in period winds switched around there pretty good.

How did you wind up for the day.

LG I didn't fair too well but I pulled it off in HG not sure how but I got lucky I suppose...

Use the jbm calculator, it will get u close. I was on the 7 ring first shot at 1000 yards (first time shooting past 600 too) using jbm and guesstimating speed. From there dial it in with ur sighters.
