Dang, I broke it!

Removed the barreled action on a Remington 581 to do stock work. Yup, it fell of my work bench! The tang that attaches the trigger assembly sheared off. It looks like it was originally soldered somehow. Anyone repaired one of these! I’m guessing silver soldering by an expert?

Happens all the time to that line of remingtons. Solder it back on

Remington 788 Trigger Stud Broke

I just finished putting a new Timney trigger onto the Remington 788 6.5 Creedmoor I built for someone and went to test the bolt release before putting it back in the stock and the trigger fell into my hand? I was a little shocked for a minute and after saying some choice words started looking...

Another option. Both work well.

Solder is preferred . Silver would be the best . However I fixed a 788 once by drilling and tapping a screw in the action then machining the head and drilling the cross hole worked perfect . Still works till this day . Jb weld on the thread done.
