Dandy/Omega 3 Powder Trickler Upgrade!

Just recieved this powder trickler and was thinking what a mess it would be if I dumped that 1000 grains of powder (in the Omega's open cup) all over my bench. Light bulb moment, I had a spare powder bottle that came with my Harrell powder measure (that has the plug on the bottom of the bottle) (I think it identical to the extra bottles that Sinclair also sells.)

Anyway the photo says it all. I just put the bottle threads inside the yellow cup of the Omega trickler and it screwed down tight. I am considering siliconing it in place, but after several attempts to pull the two pieces apart, it may not be necessary.


I like having the visual of the powder level and of course you have more capacity.

looks like a cool idea, however i have a question are you trickling the entire charge. I dump a charge then trickle as needed i might need 5-10 kernals of powder. For me putting one dumped charge in the trickler is good for 100+ rounds?

The part i like is that it incloses the trickler preventing moisture getting in for those long loading session.

A bit of both, actually. I'm usually throwing 44+ grains with my Harrell and then topping up the load to 45.8 grains (Varget).

at 40 grains per, that would only allow about 25 loads from scratch in 1000 grains, but that is moot with the one pound bottle in place.

I set my Hornady powder thrower to throw as close to my charge as I can, then trickle up with the Omega. I usually dump my first powder throw into the Omega and then charges that are thrown over weight, the extra goes in the Omega.
