Damaged RCBS Decap Unit

I damaged the decap unit in my .300 Blackout sizing die. (I called RCBS and they're sending me a freebie but I have a question.) RCBS offers 3 different .30 caliber decap units and I wondered if anyone here knew what the differences were. They offer a .30 SB (part #9813), a .30/7.62 (part #9812), and a .30 Taper (part #9832).

I did ask which one I needed and they told me the part #9812 and that they would send me a freebie, nothing else mattered at that time & I didn't ask what the differences were. Next time I need to contact them I will ask, just for my curiosity.

I would expect a tapered ball for expanding .224 necks up, a low ball for normal dies, and a high ball where the ball engages the neck/shoulder point before the case mouth is free of the die neck (RCBS Competition sizers)

RCBS customer service is second to none! No matter what the situation is, they always get you up and running again!

How was it damaged?
Stupidity on my part....and I don't mind posting this as it might save someone else's reloading day.
I spray lubricated a group of cases & must have missed one. One case stuck in the die. While removing the decap rod (prior to drilling & tapping the case) by unscrewing it's assembly from the die, the expander ball stuck in the case mouth. Not thinking about what was happening inside the case, I continued to unscrew the rod entire assembly. I stripped the threads off the decap rod that the expander ball screws on to.
I realize now that I should have first loosened the lock nut, then alternately screwed in just the decap rod and unscrewed its' larger mounting piece until the rod was free. Then proceed with removing the stuck case and finally retrieving the expander ball.
