[Freezing In A Field]

Hi all. Very much like this inexpensive 457 Synthetic with the light sporter weight profile barrel. It is both a field and casual range rifle - very light at 2.5 kilos / 5.8 lbs.
The scope is I use is the Hawke Vantage x2 - x7 32mm A.O. with the illuminated reticle.This is an inexpensive, but well made scope.
I have had the rifle for a few years now and would absolutely purchase this again.
I shoot typically standing up resting the rifle on a front bag on the car roof usually with a cushion as a rear bag.
I often get 1.5 inch groups at 100.6 yards, with overall group average typically of 1.7 inches.Worst groups are never bigger than two inches.
An utterly 100% reliable rifle with feeding / extraction.
The picture is sort of typical for cold clean bore zero check, again, shooting standing up from the car roof.

Thanks Wayne.It is not target rifle / match ammo accuracy, but as a field rifle and range rifle for casual shooting it is perfect.

It is a good field gun.Light, so carrying without a sling is fairly easy for long periods of time and is it very reliable with any ammo.

I have had great accuracy from the CZ 457 American. The one I am using now is the wood stock version and now it wears a 17 HM2 barrel. But the first break in shots from the CZ barrel (17 HMR) were outstanding. It is a prairie dog killer.

Yes, the 457 in .17 HMR is a fine flat shooting rifle.

I have that same rifle in a 17 HMR. Very nice accurate rifle.

I've got the wood stocked American in 17hmr. It is extremely accurate. I bedded the recoil lug right when I got it before even shooting it because it fit slightly loose in the stock. I'm not sure how much that helped, but it will absolutely shoot better than an inch at 100 with cci 20gr game points. It's hard to shoot though, because it is so light.
